For us at Lacy Bird, the end of August is the busiest week after 8 March. In fourteen years we have made thousands of bouquets for Knowledge Day, and we know well what sets a fitting gift for a teacher apart from one "bought on the way to school". Below is what we ourselves recommend to clients every September.
In brief
Choose seasonal flowers of late summer — dahlias, hydrangeas, asters, lisianthus. One thoughtfully designed bouquet is more fitting than an armful. A compact option starts at 3,000–4,000 ₽, a medium one is 5,000–9,000 ₽, a premium designer bouquet starts at 10,000 ₽. Order delivery in Moscow for 1 September 1–3 days ahead.
What to give a teacher on 1 September
There are three formats that work, and we make all three every season:
- A designer bouquet of seasonal flowers. The most versatile option. In autumn, late-summer flowers — dahlias, hydrangeas, asters — look fresher than greenhouse ones and are more reasonably priced.
- An arrangement in a hat box. No need to find a vase, it lasts longer and is easy to carry. A good choice if the bouquet is presented in the classroom.
- One bouquet from the whole class. A trend the teachers themselves support: instead of thirty identical ones, a single bouquet, thoughtfully designed and premium.

Trends for 1 September 2026
The main trend is moderation and a natural feel. The era of giant "balls" of chrysanthemums in cellophane is passing; in their place come composed arrangements in a natural style, where the florist's hand can be seen.
- Seasonal accents. Dahlias and hydrangeas are the heroes of September.
- Mono bouquets. One variety, a clean shape, graphic wrapping — it looks expensive and modern.
- A muted palette. Terracotta, wine, smoky green instead of bright "school" colours.
- Less, but better. A compact designer bouquet instead of an armful — both more fitting and more noticeable.
How to choose a bouquet
For a female teacher
A soft but not cloying palette never fails: peony-type roses, hydrangea, lisianthus, wildflower accents. Medium size: the bouquet should be comfortable to hold at the ceremony and carry home.
For a male teacher and a form tutor
Restraint and form matter more than volume. A strict mono bouquet, a drier palette without pastels, or an arrangement in a box all work. No frills or glitter.
For a first teacher
A warmer, more "homely" bouquet of a neat size — one that a child can comfortably hold.
Seasonal flowers in a September bouquet
Right now the dahlia season is in full swing and the season of interesting hydrangea varieties is beginning — both flowers sit perfectly in a bouquet for 1 September: they are large, textured and hold their shape.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ, also in JSON-LD)
Which flowers should I give a teacher on 1 September?
A safe choice is seasonal late-summer flowers: dahlias, hydrangeas, asters, lisianthus, spray roses. In autumn they look fresh and cost less than greenhouse ones. Classic gladioli are appropriate, but they are increasingly replaced by designer combinations in a natural style. We recommend one or two accent flowers plus greenery — such a bouquet looks composed, not "thrown together for the date".
How much does a bouquet for 1 September cost?
A compact, neat bouquet for 1 September starts at roughly 3,000–4,000 ₽. A medium one, "one you will not be embarrassed to present", is 5,000–9,000 ₽. Designer premium arrangements start at 10,000 ₽. The price depends on size, the seasonality of the flowers and the complexity of the design. At the peak (28 August – 1 September) it is best to order in advance.
What should I give a male teacher?
For a male teacher or form tutor, a strict mono bouquet is fitting (for example, a single variety in graphic wrapping), with a drier palette without pastels, or a non-bouquet option — a stylish arrangement in a box. The main thing is restraint and a clean form, without frills or large volume.
Can I order bouquet delivery in Moscow for 1 September?
Yes. We deliver across Moscow and the region daily, including the morning of 1 September — you can choose a narrow time slot so that the bouquet arrives in time for the ceremony. On peak dates slots go quickly, so place your order 1–3 days ahead.
What can I give instead of flowers on 1 September?
The trend of recent years is "moderation instead of an armful". One designer bouquet from the class instead of 30 identical ones, an arrangement in a box that will last longer, or flowers plus a small useful gift. Teachers themselves increasingly ask not to be overloaded with bouquets.
Which bouquet is suitable for a first teacher?
A first teacher is usually given a warmer, more "homely" bouquet: a soft palette, peony-type roses, hydrangea, wildflower accents. It should be of a neat size — one a child can comfortably hold and carry home.
